West Kirby RNLI has recently been gifted a valuable addition to its training equipment with a Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) family manikin set. This kind donation was made possible through Sally and Howie Boyd, former owners of The Wro, West Kirby, in addition to Alan Bates and Guy Morris, on behalf of the Wirral Masonic Luncheon Club. This new set will play a crucial role in enhancing the life-saving skills of the volunteer crews across the Wirral.

The advanced set of manikins features Bluetooth connectivity, allowing them to provide real-time feedback on key CPR metrics - such as compression rate, depth, hand placement and ventilation efficiency. With this technology, crew members can fine-tune their skills during training, ensuring they’re fully prepared to respond effectively in emergencies.

The family set includes an adult, child and infant manikin, enabling the crew to practise a wide range of scenarios. West Kirby RNLI will be sharing the set with the volunteer crew at flanking stations of Hoylake, New Brighton and Flint RNLI.

Andy Brown, West Kirby RNLI Launch Authority said:

‘We’re always very humbled by the local community’s continued support and would like to thank The Wro and the Wirral Masonic Luncheon Club for their generosity in gifting this training equipment.

‘The RNLI and West Kirby lifeboat station are dependent not only on their dedicated volunteers within the organisation, but also on the support of you, our community, so thank you.

‘The CPR family set will play an important role in future training exercises, keeping us prepared for all scenarios out at sea and on land within our community. We again thank Sally, Howie, Alan and Guy and the wider community for their generosity.’
