West Kirby RNLI respond to Mayday call
Launched at 1230 in response to an automatic Mayday sent from the RYA SafeTrx App to look for an overdue Kayaker. After a thorough search, the app owner was identified and the alert was cancelled. Whilst on this shout, the spoken word 'Mayday' was heard on VHF CH16 and the location of this was triangulated by the Coastguard. Upon arriving at the location, no one in distress was found and after a further search in conjunction with Flint Lifeboat, no one in distress was found.
