Jersey lifeboats in nighttime launch to injured yachtsman
St Helier & St Catherine lifeboats were launched to a lone yachtsman off the North West coast of Jersey, after the yachtsman had called Jersey Coastguard requesting assistance after hitting his head. St Catherine's Atlantic arrived on scene first and began treating the casualty. St Helier lifeboat arrived on scene 8 minutes later and the casualty was transferred to the All Weather lifeboat for further treatment and transfer back to land to an awaiting ambulance. Once the casualty had been handed over to the Jersey ambulance service St Helier lifeboat returned to take over the tow of the yacht from St Catherine lifeboat. Both lifeboats returned to station by 12:15am.
