Lighting up the night for a lifesaving cause, Flint RNLIs firework display.
Flint RNLI hosted a successful fireworks display, which was well supported by the community to help generate essential funds for the RNLI.
Flint RNLI’s annual firework display, held at Flint Castle on Friday 6 November, lit up the night sky in a spectacular community event that raised essential funds to support the charity’s lifesaving work. Volunteers worked tirelessly to organise the event, which was well supported by the local community, estimating over 5000 people in attendance - record breaking numbers for the event.
Flint Town Mayor, Councillor Elaine Jones and her deputy Val Neevitt officially opened the evening's event, lighting 'Barbara’s Beacon' before the fireworks display set from within Flint Castle began.
The event received generous support from local businesses and organisations, including Flint Coastguard Team, Flint and Holywell Rotary, Flint Football Club, Flint Litter Pickers, Andy's Man Club, Grovener scaffold, Renegade- Barriers, Festival Fireworks and may more all contributing to the event’s success and safety.
James Davies, Flint RNLI’s D-Class Helm said: It’s amazing to see the community come together for another year, to support our event which raises vital money for our station. It stands testament to the volunteer's dedication in helping set up and run event on the day. The money raised on the night keeps our much loved station running and our D-class The Lady Barbara afloat and ready for service in the event we are called to a tasking. Thank you to everyone who helped making the event what it is and for the local community for again engaging in another amazing year.
