Dunmore East 3rd Annual Open Water Swim

Dunmore East RNLI Open Water swim is back for 2023 and will take place on Sunday May 28th at 11.30am.

The swim is sheltered and accessible but nonetheless a challenging 1600m coastal swim.

Access is directly from the slip at the sailing club in the harbour into deep water, around clearly defined red marker buoys, and back to the slip.

All money raised will go to Dunmore East RNLI.

There are three separate swims for 18s and over: a 500m swim, 800m swim and a 1600m swim. Participants can choose to swim in any of the three swims. The 1600m swim will be first, followed by the 800m swim.

NOTE: The 500m distance is for beginners only who have swam this distance before but not more and will be untimed in a second wave after the juniors start same distance.

There is also a junior 500m event, limited to 50 participants for ages 12-17 years, which will take place after.

Beginners of all ages can participate in the 500m swim (up to the event limit of 50 participants) but with a delayed departure. 

This will be a timed event with timings published after the event.
