Looking to give feedback?
Volunteers are at the heart of what we do at the RNLI, so it's important that the volunteer voice is at the centre of all the work we do. You can give feedback by speaking directly to your line manager or getting in touch with the key support teams below.
Here are some of the other ways we ensure volunteer voices are heard within the RNLI:
Volunteer Feedback Group – This is made up of RNLI volunteers who bring the ‘volunteer voice’ to developments that take place across the organisation. This includes a sub group of volunteer managers who provide feedback on all our volunteer manager resources. If you are a volunteer interested in joining this group, please do keep your eye out on our volunteering opportunities page. If you are a staff member wanting feedback from volunteers on a project, please email [email protected].
People Advisory Group – This is made up of a small group of volunteers, who provide advice and guidance on People related initiatives and what we deliver as part of the People Plan. Their role is not to represent ‘the voice’ of RNLI volunteers, but to ensure that we have volunteers supporting and contributing to the People Leadership Team.
People Networks – All our people networks are open to all staff and volunteers. Each of them lifts voices from the communities they represent. They look to remove barriers for people either through their own objectives or by influencing change by escalating into our inclusion lead. To find out more about the People Networks and how to get involved please go here – Inclusion At The RNLI - Volunteer Zone.
Volunteer Engagement survey – Our volunteer survey is a very important piece of work where we go out to all our volunteers to seek feedback and then look to make developments based on the outcome. The next survey is due in Spring 2026.
Inclusion Champions – Our inclusion champions are people across the RNLI who are passionate about inclusion and supporting the RNLI to become more inclusive and diverse. This group of volunteers champion inclusion in their roles, but also provide feedback on inclusion related projects and initiatives. Around a third of this group are existing RNLI volunteers.
