Hartlepool RNLI volunteer crewmembers Kayley Turner and Glen Pearson receive the money raised by the Guides from Niya Lindley.
  • Girl Guide leader Rachel Cornelius said 'The girls really enjoyed the visit. They were trying kit on, had a tour of the all weather lifeboat and inshore lifeboat and learned a lot about sea safety at the same time.

Before the visit we collected 20p pieces in Smartie tubes which raised £200.00 for the charity.
The girls were also presented with their Mayday Mayday badge. The Mayday Mayday Badge is a water safety challenge badge created in partnership with the RNLI. It teaches members of all ages—Rainbows, Brownies, Guides and Rangers crucial water survival and safety skills.'

Hartlepool RNLI lifeboat visits officer Jimmy Slaughter said 'It was a pleasure to host the group who bombarded us with questions throughout the visit and at the end of the day I'm sure we got the sea safety message across and on behalf of all the volunteer crew can I say thank you for the very generous donation which will help save lives at sea.'
