RNLI crew called to action as Hay Shantymen perform to raise money
The Hay Shantymen brought their rousing sea shanties and maritime folk music to West Wales this weekend, performing at three venues in support of Cardigan RNLI. Their performances entertained crowds, raised awareness of the RNLI, and helped support its lifesaving work.
As the group travelled between venues sharing songs of the sea, Cardigan RNLI’s volunteer crews were called into action three times over the same weekend, highlighting the very real need for the charity’s lifesaving service. Thanks to the generosity of those who attended the performances and supported the fundraising efforts, the Hay Shantymen raised £3894.31 for Cardigan RNLI.
Cardigan RNLI would like to thank the Hay Shantymen, the venues that hosted them, and everyone who came along and donated. The funds raised will help support the station’s volunteer crews as they continue to save lives at sea.

The RNLI is the charity that saves lives at sea. Its volunteers provide a 24-hour search and rescue service around the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland coasts.
