Hartlepool RNLI launch to assist ill person on a fishing boat

Hartlepool RNLI volunteers were paged at 10.00am on Wednesday 15th July by Humber Coastguard to assist a person on a 10 metre fishing boat who had a medical issue.

Hartlepool RNLI all weather lifeboat 'John Sharp' returning to the Ferry Road lifeboat station.
The all weather lifeboat 'John Sharp' launched at 10.20am and was alongside the vessel which was 5 miles off Hartlepool at 10.40am.
Two RNLI crewmembers were placed aboard the vessel to carry out an assessment of the casualty.
The male casualty was transferred to the all weather lifeboat and brought back to the Ferry Road lifeboat station at 11.05am and was able to walk to an awaiting ambulance assisted by lifeboat crew.
The all weather lifeboat was refuelled and made ready for service again at 11.20am.
Hartlepool Coastguard Rescue team were also present at the lifeboat station to assist.
