Santa dive raises £1,208 for Weymouth RNLI
Last month the annual charitable Santa Dive took place aboard the dive charter boat Waverider, operating from Portland Marina and run by approved BSAC Premier Centre Jurassic Aqua Sports.
Dive boat organisers expressed their gratitude to everyone who donated and the funds raised will directly support the RNLI’s lifesaving work.
The event saw a group of eight divers dive local ship wreck, the Hartlepool located in Weymouth Bay, raising £1,208 in support of RNLI Weymouth Lifeboat Station. Volunteer crew members extended their thanks to David Collins of Jurassic Aqua Sports for kindly presenting the cheque. Jurassic Aqua Sports is a Weymouth-based dive centre offering a wide range of scuba diving and training opportunities along the Jurassic Coast.
The RNLI is a charity dedicated to saving lives at sea, and Weymouth Lifeboat Station is crewed entirely by volunteers who are on call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, ready to respond whenever they are needed.
