Hartlepool RNLI tow yacht to safety
Hartlepool RNLI volunteers were paged at 1.35pm on Sunday 15th February by Humber Coastguard to assist a 35ft yacht with 3 persons on board that had suffered mechanical failure a mile off Hartlepool Marina.
Sea conditions were described as calm.
Hartlepool RNLI lifeboat operations manager Steve Pounder said 'This was a typical tow job that the volunteer crew train for and its thanks to donations from the public that we are able to provide this service to help save lives at sea.'
The inshore lifeboat returned to the Ferry Road lifeboat station at 3.00pm and was refuelled and made ready for service by 3.15pm.
