Cardigan RNLI invites community to annual open day

Taking place at Cardigan Lifeboat Station from 11am to 4pm, the free event will provide visitors with the opportunity to meet volunteer crew members, learn about water safety and get a closer look at the station’s lifeboats.

There will be plenty to see and do throughout the day with visits from HM Coastguard and the Fire Service, and the chance to meet Lyn, the water safety officer and the RNLI’s popular mascot, Stormy Stan. Members of Merched Y Môr will also be attending, and you can enjoy a range of food and refreshment stalls.

The event aims to give the public an insight into the work carried out by Cardigan RNLI’s volunteers, who are on call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, responding to emergencies at sea and along the coastline.

Louise Francis, Organiser and Launch Authority for Cardigan RNLI said:

“Our Open Day is a fantastic opportunity for the community to come and meet the volunteers who help keep people safe around our coastline. Whether you’re interested in the lifeboats, want to learn more about water safety, or are simply looking for a great family day out, we’d love to welcome you to the station.”

The RNLI is encouraging everyone to come along, enjoy the activities and learn more about how the charity saves lives at sea.
