Fundraising events in the town including Mayday celebrations, the summer fayre, shanty evenings and many others have generated thousands of pounds in recent years. The volunteer treasurer is regarded as a crucial member of the friendly and enthusiastic team that helps to organise and support these activities.

As part of this role, the Branch Treasurer will be responsible for maintaining accurate accounts, preparing financial reports, and ensuring financial procedures are followed. They will be invited to support local fundraising events and help welcome new supporters, contributing directly to the smooth running and long-term sustainability of Wells RNLI’s community fundraising efforts.

Volunteers joining the Wells RNLI team receive full guidance and support from the station and wider RNLI teams. The successful applicant will be fully supported in their duties and provided with all the training and assistance needed to feel confident in the role.

Jess Curtis, Wells RNLI Volunteer Press Officer and Regional Communications Manager, said: ‘The treasurer is an integral role at Wells RNLI, especially with the station being so busy. We are constantly overwhelmed by the generosity of our supporters, and we would really appreciate the help of someone who wants to make a lifesaving difference to the station and the charity’s vital work without getting their feet wet or needing sea legs.’

This is a rewarding opportunity to join a motivated and supportive team, develop new skills, and play an important part in helping RNLI lifeboat crews save lives at sea. For more information please visit Fundraising Branch and Station Treasurer - Wells-next-the-Sea or contact the station.
