Hartlepool lifeboats search for person reported in difficulty

Following a request by Humber Coastguard both Hartlepool lifeboats with volunteer crewmembers were launched on Sunday 16 November at 7.00pm to take part in a search for a person in potential difficulty.

The search area was along the shoreline from the Heugh Breakwater at the Headland, Hartlepool to Steetley Pier.

With nothing found both lifeboats were eventually stood down by the Coastguard at 8.40pm and they returned to the Ferry Road lifeboat station where they were refuelled and made ready for service by 9.15pm.

Sea conditions at the time were described as moderate with 3-4 metre waves.
