John had a deep admiration for the RNLI, particularly the efforts of the Wells-next-the-Sea lifeboat station and the Norfolk coastline.

Having enjoyed annual holidays in Wells, the town held a special place in his heart, filled with cherished family memories.

A passionate motorsport enthusiast, John was a well-respected figure in the rallying community. As the ANEMMC Championship Coordinator for over two decades, he played a key role in the sport.

In his honour, the North East Championship raised funds through a raffle at its annual awards presentation evening.

On behalf of Wells RNLI, Coxswain Nicky King said: 'We are extremely grateful for support in raising funds for Wells Station. We all appreciate the significant donation they have made to the RNLI.

'The RNLI relies on public donations to continue its vital work saving lives at sea, and this contribution in John’s memory will support the dedicated efforts of the Wells lifeboat crew.'
