West Kirby Sailing Club fireworks display raises over £4,500 for the RNLI
West Kirby Sailing Club lit up the sky on Saturday 2 November, hosting a spectacular community event to raise vital funds for their local RNLI station.
Thousands from the local community attended Saturday’s fireworks display at West Kirby Sailing Club (WKSC). The spectacular event brought together local residents, RNLI crews and sailing club members resulting in a fantastic evening that highlighted the incredible support of the community.
With West Kirby and Hoylake Lifeboat Station crews out in force leading fundraising efforts, and thanks to the generosity of people who attended and the dedicated efforts of WKSC, an incredible £4,579.88 was raised to support the RNLI’s mission of saving lives at sea along our coastline. These funds will directly contribute to the essential work of the local West Kirby RNLI Station, ensuring crews have the resources they need to respond quickly and effectively to emergencies at sea.
The WKSC Commodore, said:
‘West Kirby Sailing Club really appreciates the fabulous service that the local lifeboats provide. We are just happy to be able to give something back to them and provide an event for our local community.’
Richard Diamond, West Kirby Lifeboat Operations Manager, said:
‘We’re so grateful to West Kirby Sailing Club for their hard work in organising such a fantastic fireworks display. It was a wonderful example of our community coming together, not only to enjoy a brilliant evening but to support and raise funds for our lifesaving work. Seeing so many people come out to support us means the world to our volunteer crew.'
