Gareth said "It was an amazing event to take part in, a brilliant atmosphere and a wonderful way to raise some money for the Hartlepool RNLI. I occasionally swim with the 'Brass Monkeys' sea swimmers so I'm quite used to the cold conditions. I must say thank you to all my friends and family and workmates who sponsored me to take part, they really made it worthwhile."
Hartlepool RNLI Lifeboats Operations Manger Chris Hornsey said "Gareth's generous donation to the RNLI is amazing and will certainly help save lives at sea by supporting the volunteers who are on call 24-7."
