Miriam's brother Peter who presented the cheque said 'Miriam loved visiting the RNLI shop at Roker in Sunderland so we thought it fitting that the RNLI benefit with this donation.
Both myself and my wife Greta enjoy the 'Saving Lives at Sea' series and knowing the donation will actually help save lives at sea is a very satisfying thought."
Hartlepool RNLI Deputy coxswain Matt Adams said "On behalf of all the volunteer crewmembers at the lifeboat station I'd like to say thank you to Peter for this donation. The money will certainly help fund training for the crew and the day to day running costs at the lifeboat station which helps us provide 24-7 365 days cover to help those in trouble at sea".
