Grumpy Old Men fundraiser for Hartlepool RNLI
A Norton based group has raised £500.00 for the Hartlepool RNLI.
The 'Grumpy Old Men Breakfast Club' from Norton near Stockton on Tees held a special fundraising 'big breakfast' at nearby Bishopton Village Hall that included a raffle and an auction.
Club spokesman Kevin Connolly said "We like to hold fundraisers for local charities and the Hartlepool RNLI is a very worthy cause with there amazing volunteer crewmembers. We had a very interesting tour of the lifeboat station and the all weather lifeboat which we thoroughly enjoyed.
I must say thank you to everyone who took part and made the breakfast event such a great success and a special thank you to the wives of the members who assisted."
Hartlepool RNLI Lifeboat Operations Manager Chris Hornsey said "This donation from the 'Grumpy Old Men Breakfast Club' certainly brought a smile to our faces. Donations such as this are vital to allow us to provide the best kit and boats for our volunteer crew members to help save lives at sea. So I would like to say thank you to Kevin and the other members of the group for there tremendous support."
