Lifeboats News Release

Regulars from a Hartlepool pub have brewed a special 'Betty Huntbatch' beer to raise funds for the local RNLI lifeboat station.

Regulars at the Fishermans Arms at the Headland, Hartlepool were invited to the 'Tooth and Claw Brewing' site at Camerons Brewery to make the beer from scratch.
Glenn Murphy of the Fishermans Arms said "It was a brilliant experience. Lead Brewer Jake Massey and Head Brewer Ryan Shore of the brewing team at 'Tooth and Claw' helped us through the process which is quite complicated. It took about five hours to produce the beer which is an IPA and will be available soon at the pub.
Proceeds from every pint sold at our pub will go to Hartlepool RNLI who we have supported for many years."
Fishermans Arms landlady Hazel Whitelock said "We are very proud to support our local RNLI volunteers and the important work they do so we thought it would be a good idea to call it 'Betty Huntbatch' which is the name of the all weather lifeboat berthed at the Ferry Road Lifeboat Station."
Hartlepool RNLI coxswain Robbie Maiden said "This is a very generous gesture from the Fishermans Arms who have been tremendous supporters of the charity over the years and thank you to Camerons Brewery and the Tooth and Claw Brewing team whose support is also vital to help us save lives at sea. I'm sure some of the crew will be calling in to the pub to sample a pint of 'Betty Huntbatch' beer at the earliest opportunity."
