Volunteer crew and Water Safety Team members showed the youngsters what they wear when they head out to sea on the inshore lifeboat 'Solihull' or the all weather lifeboat 'Betty Huntbatch' and learnt about how to be safe at sea and on the beach.

Hartlepool RNLI crew member and scout leader Craig Pinder said: 'The children really enjoyed the visit. Some of them asked some really good questions such as how much does our kit cost and how many lifeboats do the RNLI have but most importantly I am sure they have all learnt a lot about being safe on or near the water and what to do in an emergency.'
