Couple take on 100km trek in honour of brother to raise vital RNLI funds

Lifeboats News Release

On the 14 and 15 May 2022, Cherys and Terri Stimpson-Peay will be tackling 100km of the Jurassic Coastline together in memory of brother, Daniel, who sadly passed away in 2020.

They are raising money for the RNLI, who played a vital role in finding and recovering Daniel from the sea.

So far the pair have raised £460 of their £1,000 target.

As a charity, alongside the hard work of volunteer crew, the RNLI is reliant on the kind donations that are generated by fundraising activities such as this to continue to be on-call 24/7.

The first stint of the journey will see the couple trek a huge 58km from Corfe Castle to Swanage, then Weymouth. Day 2 will continue with a further 42km from Weymouth to Bridport.

Cherys and Terri said: ‘The RNLI have a big place in our hearts and we are forever grateful to them for the role they played on such a terrible day.

…We know it won’t be easy but we are determined to complete this with a smile on our face in memory of our fabulous, outgoing and larger than life brother Dan, who loved the coast and who would be backing us all the way for such a worthy cause!’
