The Rosie Cotton, a 27-foot yacht, had run into trouble in Morecambe Bay, when the engine failed to start. The Skipper, Paul Mills, called the UK Coastguard and requested assistance.

Fleetwood RNLI launched the inshore lifeboat, Mary Elizabeth Barnes, and the three-man crew quickly towed the yacht to the safety of Fleetwood marina.

Paul said, ‘The lifeboat volunteers don’t get enough credit for what they do. I was so grateful for their help. The whole operation was very professional.’
