Celebrating over 150 years as a lifeboat station Fleetwood now operates both an all-weather Shannon class lifeboat and an inshore D class lifeboat. The crews have been presented with 15 awards for gallantry.

Charity urges public to be vigilant of high spring tides this weekend

Whilst on the way back to port, the third call from HM Coastguard requested the lifeboats search for a dog that had been swept out by the tide. Both lifeboats searched the sea near Marine beach and had given up hope of finding her when the exhausted dog was spotted out near Wyre Light. It was quickly taken on board the all-weather lifeboat and returned to its grateful owner.
