Golf day boost for Hartlepool RNLI

Seaton Carew Golf Club hosted the annual Hartlepool RNLI golf day recently where 14 teams took part in the popular event.

Event organisers Malcolm Wallis and Tommy Price of the Hartlepool RNLI praised the success of the event with Tommy Price saying: ‘We had a brilliant day, the weather was reasonably good and all the teams appeared to have enjoyed the day on an excellent course.

‘We would like to thank all our supporters who made the day a great success and local businesses and individuals who provided prizes for the raffle.

‘We hope to have raised around £1,000 for Hartlepool RNLI and its volunteer crew members to help save lives at sea.'

The RNLI charity saves lives at sea. Its volunteers provide a 24-hour search and rescue service around the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland coasts. The RNLI operates 238 lifeboat stations in the UK and Ireland and more than 240 lifeguard units on beaches around the UK and Channel Islands. The RNLI is independent of Coastguard and government and depends on voluntary donations and legacies to maintain its rescue service. Since the RNLI was founded in 1824, its lifeboat crews and lifeguards have saved over 146,000 lives.
