Teddington RNLI host Calshot RNLI for start of the South Coast Life Cycle
Teddington RNLI Lifeboat Station hosted the team from Calshot RNLI who began their epic journey from Teddington RNLI on Sunday (3 June) cycling along the south coast, back to their station, visiting every RNLI station along the way.
John Mantle said on behalf of the Calshot RNLI crew and friends team cycling as the 'South Coast Life Cycle:
‘We appreciated the warm welcome, hospitality and send off we’ve received at Teddington RNLI and we had the added bonus of seeing a live shout as we arrived at the station. Great to see the Teddington crew in action on the River Thames on a hot summer night ensuring we have a Safer Thames. Thank you to all who have supported us so far on social media. Paul Roach, Deputy Launching Authority (DLA) at Teddington RNLI Lifeboat Station, said:
‘Last night some colleagues from RNLI Calshot camped out at Teddington Lifeboat Station before starting their charity bike ride home via all the lifeboat stations through London and the South East Coast. As a bonus they witnessed a shout yesterday evening. They were safely escorted to RNLI Chiswick before their next leg to RNLI Tower. We wish them a memorable, safe and epic journey!’

The South Coast Life Cycle Background
The South Coast Life Cycle is six cyclists, 360 miles, six days!
Starting in London on Sunday June 3rd, 2018 at RNLI Teddington Lifeboat Station, the team will cycle along the coast back to home calling in at every RNLI Lifeboat station along the way, including the three on the Isle of Wight. The total distance covered will be around 360 miles over six days finishing on June 8th 2018.
All the money raised from ‘The South Coast Life Cycle’ challenge will be divided equally between four amazing charities, RNLI (@RNLI), Wessex Cancer Trust (@WessexCancer), Combat Stress (@CombatStress), and MS Society UK. (@mssocietyuk) all of which have personal connections with members of the team.
