Hartlepool RNLI volunteers save man from drowning.
Hartlepool RNLI volunteer crew were paged at 10.45am on Sunday 22 April 2018 following a request from Humber Coastguard to recover a person who had entered the water at the Newburn Bridge area of Hartlepool.
The inshore lifeboat was at the scene of the incident within a few minutes and recovered the casualty from the water who was suffering from hypothermia.
The inshore lifeboat returned to the Ferry Road lifeboat station where an awaiting ambulance took the person to hospital.
Hartlepool Lifeboat Operations Manager Chris Hornsey said: 'A fast response from our volunteer crew paid off by rescuing the person who was obviously suffering from the effects of the cold water. This is something we train for and I can only say well done to everyone involved.'
