McColl’s lifesaver

Lifeboats News Release

McColl’s Supermarket at Connahs Quay has donated a cheque for £150 to Flint RNLI.

Sian Atkinson, store manager of McColl’s Supermarket Connahs Quay, presented Flint RNLI volunteer Lifeboat Operations Manager Alan Forrester with a cheque for £150 toward the cost of training and equipment at Flint RNLI.

The money was raised from the sale of products to support the local community.

Alan Forrester said: ‘We are very grateful to McColl’s and their customers for their generosity, this is where the rescue begins.’

Earlier in the day the RNLI team had been in Church Street, Flint advertising the lifeboat Beacon & Fireworks night, this year the event takes place on Friday 3rd November.

The RNLI charity saves lives at sea. Its volunteers provide a 24-hour search and rescue service around the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland coasts. The RNLI operates 238 lifeboat stations in the UK and Ireland and more than 240 lifeguard units on beaches around the UK and Channel Islands.
