In this round-up of RNLI dog rescues, you’ll see that our selfless lifeboat crews save dogs from all sorts of places and reunite them with their owners. Let’s all ‘paws’ to appreciate everything they do for our furry friends.

There’s so much for you and your dog to enjoy by the water. Whether you’re heading for the beach or venturing out on a coastal walk, please follow these safety tips:

• Keep your dog on a lead if you’re close to cliff edges or fast flowing rivers.
• If your dog goes into the water or gets stuck in the mud, don’t go after them. Move to a place they can get to safely and call them – they’ll probably get out by themselves.
• If you’re worried about your dog, call 999 or 112 and ask for the Coastguard.
