Fraserburgh Go Pro Training 190718 at Rosehearty
Go Pro Training 190718

The first RNLI Fraserburgh crew member to try out the helmet mounted Go Pro video camera on an exercise was Mark Hadden on the 18th of July 2019.

Two days ahead of our attendance at the Rosehearty Harbour Fun Day we had a look around the area with Mark, Grant Duthie and Owen Brandie taking the XP boat into the old harbour.

It was a good test for the Go Pro camera which came into its own with heavy rain at times making it impossible to use a normal camera. The robust waterproof Go Pro coped exceedingly well with conditions with excellent picture and sound quality, enabling the viewer to get right in close and engage with the action.

The Go Pro coped equally well with the surrounding seascape capturing the dramatic rain filled skies and showing just how localised the showers can be in almost cinema like quality.

Although we were pleased with how the camera had worked the weather wasn’t looking too promising for the fun day at Rosehearty Harbour just over 36 hours away.

However the weather significantly improved and it remained dry the whole day at the fun day and everyone had a great time.
