Great Wild Atlantic Marathon Walks, Courtmacsherry, Co Cork
A full walking Marathon with options to walk 5km, 10km, 15km and half Marathon also being offered, in support of the RNLI, from Courtmacsherry Bay to Inchydoney Bay along the stunning coastal route of the Seven Heads Peninsula in West Cork.
Now in its ninth year, this is also the only full walking Marathon of 26.2 miles to be held in Ireland. The total raised over 8 years of the Great Wild Atlantic Walk in aid of Courtmacsherry Harbour Lifeboat is €73,012.
The Walk is an initiative between Courtmacsherry Harbour Lifeboat and Barryroe GAA to further the “Respect the Water” and “Float to Live” campaign, with the entire proceeds going to the RNLI. This is a well signposted event with many stewards along the route. Water and snacks are offered along the route. Toilet facilities are also available.
