Yealm and District Fundraising Branch
Our team of community fundraising volunteers in and around Yealm & District devote their time to raising vital funds for the RNLI.
Branch information
The RNLI established a lifeboat station on the Yealm in 1878. The station was closed in 1927 by which time Plymouth Lifeboat Station had been equipped with a motor lifeboat which could cover the area more effectively.
The origins of the Yealm fundraising group are a little more obscure but an active fundraising body has certainly been operating for more than half a century.
Good range of skills exists within the fundraising group but there is a perception that the Branch could benefit from the addition of someone with sales, marketing and promotion experience including the ability to deal productively with the local media. An approach from an individual with this background would be welcomed.
Please contact the Secretary for opportunities at this branch or check our volunteering vacancies.
Planning meetings are held approximately 8 times per annum and are held at irregular intervals to align with scheduled fundraising events.
