Stafford with Rugeley Fundraising Branch
Branch information
Rugeley was formed in 1984 and a few years later was amalgamated with the Stafford branch, hence Stafford with Rugeley. Since its formation the branch has raised approximately £250,000 by organising dances, quizzes, raffles etc.
In the early nineties to raise our profile, we approached the RNLI to ask if we could raise funds to purchase an inshore lifeboat that could be named after the two towns that we represented. And in July 1995 ‘D485’ was accepted on behalf of Rhyl station.
We continue to raise funds through collection boxes, street collections, sale of souvenirs and generous donations.
Membership now consists of a small group of people, so we are on the lookout for more members.
Please contact the Chairman for opportunities at this branch or check our volunteering vacancies.
We usually meet on the third Thursday of the month at 5.00 PM at the Great Haywood Sports and Social Club, Main Road, Great Haywood, Stafford, ST18 0SU.
