Hitchin and District Fundraising Branch
Branch information
We are group of volunteers from Hitchin, Stevenage and the surrounding villages.
Our enthusiastic team supports a number of social and fundraising activities throughout the year.
As well as contributing to the RNLI in general, we are proud to support the Tower lifeboat station on the Thames and their lifesavers. This is the busiest lifeboat station in the country and less than 35 miles from Hitchin. We also support the Cromer lifeboat station with which we have had a long association.
Our recent events include a coffee morning in Hitchin, a bridge drive, and a classic car event at Pirton as well as other collections and stalls throughout the year.
Although well established, we are always looking for new volunteers, opportunities and ideas to raise funds and to raise the profile of the RNLI in Hitchin and the surrounding area so if you live locally and would like to get involved, we would love to hear from you.
Connect with us on Facebook and please feel free to donate to our JustGiving. For any enquiries, please email: [email protected].
RNLI Hitchin & District is a thriving fund-raising branch with an average annual income of between GBP 15,000 and GBP 18,000. In order to sustain this level of achievement they are looking to recruit a new Chairman and at least two new Committee Members at their AGM in March 2019. If you live within or close to the area covering Stevenage, Hitchin , Letchworth and Baldock , Hertfordshire and would be interested in taking on one of these roles then please contact the current Chairman, John Pearce on 07545 003 792 or email [email protected] for further details or check our volunteering vacancies. We also have vacancies on our committee for anyone interested in helping us fundraise.
Committee meetings are normally held on the second Tuesday of each alternate month at the Sun Hotel in Hitchin.
