Chiswick is one of four lifeboat stations on the Thames which became operational on 2 January 2002, providing a round-the-clock rapid response service for the capital.
Chiswick and the lifeboat stations at Tower Pier and Gravesend are manned continuously to provide an immediate response.
The RNLI is entirely funded by voluntary donations. Friends of Chiswick RNLI organise a number of fundraising activities throughout the year. There are national fundraising days such as:
- SOS day at the end of January
- National Lifeboat day in May
And local initiatives:
- Pub quizzes
- Comedy night
- Stalls at local fetes and fairs
We also have tie ups with local businesses and been present at a couple of events at Chiswick Business park.
Please contact the branch for opportunities or check our volunteering vacancies.
