Sir Peter Housden, RNLI Trustee.

Sir Peter Housden is a consultant and adviser in public services leadership. He served as a Permanent Secretary in Whitehall and in Scotland from 2005-15 and was previously Director-General for Schools at the Department for Education and Skills.

Peter joined the civil service after a career in local government in which he served as Director of Education and then as Chief Executive in Nottinghamshire. Peter began his career at a comprehensive school teacher in Shropshire.

Peter was elected to the RNLI Council in 2012, appointed an RNLI Trustee in 2013, and became Chair of the Remuneration Committee in 2017.
