With 4,239 responses received (20% of our volunteers), the survey provides important insight into the experiences of volunteers across the RNLI and helps us understand what matters most to our crews and communities.

Overall volunteer engagement remains high, with volunteers continuing to report a positive experience across many areas of the organisation. The survey highlighted that clear role responsibilities, access to training and resources, and a respectful, inclusive and supportive culture are some of the most important factors in supporting volunteers.

The results also show the strong commitment and dedication volunteers continue to demonstrate, particularly in their willingness to go above and beyond in support of the RNLI’s mission.

The survey has identified some areas where volunteers have said we could improve, particularly around communication, visibility of action taken, and role clarity in some areas. This feedback provides clear areas of focus for the future.

You can view the One crew: your view topline volunteer results to see the response rate, top scores, bottom scores, most improved, and most declined questions.

Full results are being shared with leadership teams across the RNLI, so they can use the findings to inform future planning and actions to continue to improve the volunteer experience.

Thank you again for taking the time to share your views in this year’s survey. Please look out for further news about how your feedback is shaping the future over the coming months.
