Saving Lives at Sea returns tomorrow!

The wait is almost over as Series 11 of Saving Lives at Sea hits our screens tomorrow evening (Tuesday 18 August, at 8pm on BBC Two and BBC iPlayer), bringing viewers back onboard RNLI lifeboats and into the heart of real-life rescues around the coasts of the UK and Ireland.

Now in its 11th series, the BBC's flagship RNLI documentary continues to showcase the courage, commitment and professionalism of our volunteer crews and lifeguards, using genuine rescue footage captured during challenging incidents at sea.

This latest series features 10 new episodes and introduces several stations making their Saving Lives at Sea debut. Find out more in our series preview.

Tomorrow's first episode will feature crews from Porthcawl, Dungeness, Scarborough and North Berwick responding to a variety of incidents.

A special message from Steven Mackintosh

Ahead of the first episode, we're delighted to share a special message from Steven Mackintosh, the voice of Saving Lives at Sea since the series began, recorded exclusively for RNLI colleagues.

In his video below, Steven reflects on the programme's remarkable journey and the extraordinary stories of courage, compassion and resilience that continue to captivate audiences more than a decade on.

Whether you've been involved in the series, featured in an episode, helped tell our stories behind the scenes, or simply enjoy watching from home, don't miss the return of one of the most powerful ways we share the RNLI story with the public.
