Bringing the RNLI to RHS Chelsea Flower Show

Our Chelsea garden is only possible thanks to passion, talent and kindness. Qualities that have powered the RNLI for almost 200 years.

From the day the charity was founded at the London Tavern in Bishopsgate, people have supported the RNLI in ways that bring out the best in all of us. We have grown into a charity that saves every one we can with our 24-hour rescue service and drowning prevention work. Powered by donations and volunteers, we save lives with water safety advice, beach lifeguards and lifeboat crews.

The funds raised from our Chelsea garden will help us continue saving lives.

Project Giving Back

Our Chelsea Show Garden is made possible by the generous support of Project Giving Back. This new initiative has given UK charities the chance to promote their causes with a garden at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2022, while supporting the horticultural industry. It has been kindly funding all costs associated with the design and build of our garden.

Kind to the environment

Sustainability is at the heart of the RNLI’s garden. The skills, services and materials we have used to build the garden have been locally sourced where possible. Parts of the garden, including handcrafted sculptural pieces, will be installed at other sites after the event, leaving a legacy beyond the Chelsea Flower Show 2022. Any remaining plants will be sold, and funds raised will go towards powering our lifesaving work.

The RNLI cares about sustainability. See how we are working to create a sustainable future for all.
