Boots to Boats boost for RNLI funds as walkers complete Liberty Trail hike
Six long distance walkers, known as Boots to Boats, today (Sunday) completed the 30mile hike along the historic Liberty Trail and presented another major donation to the RNLI.
The group's total donations over the years have exceeded an amazing £8000. This year's contribution, raised by sponsorship and donations over their three-day trek, was £1120.
Organiser Nick Perry said: We'll do the walk every year as long as we can. What better way to spend a weekend, a lovely walk with friends, a pint on the way and raising money for a great charity.'
The walkers were Nick and friends Davey Thomas, Mark Farrell, Jack Barrow, Philip Dunn and J'hon Smillie.
It was also an extra-long walkies for two pet dogs, a mongrel called Ace and Mr Pickles, a collie-cross.
