The Whitby RNLI Charity calendar is back for the fourth year running.
The calendar, created by Whitby's RNLI museum curator Neil Williamson has proved so popular that it has returned for a fourth year - with new photos inside.
Neil said: ' The calendar has been hugely popular, a lot of people buy one for themselves every year, plus more for family, especially if they have a personal connection to Whitby or the RNLI.
Our Shannon Class lifeboat carries the names of over 10,000 people on the side so we know it means an awful lot to some families who added a name in memory of a loved one.'
In the last three years, the calendar which costs a suggested donation of £12, has raised an incredible £18,168 for the RNLI.
The money raised supports volunteers, like the crew here in Whitby, to save lives at sea, by paying for vital kit and training.
The calendar features a mixture of old and new photos. Some historic pictures from years gone by, as well as pictures of Whitby's two lifeboats from last year.
For the first time this year the calendar also features an image from a member of the public, after a photo compeition was held back in spring. The winning shot featured on the February page shows the crew sharing a conversation at the blessing of the boats ceremony.
Neil said: We chose the shot because its a bit different, it shows the crew relaxing together and their camaraderie - and it reminded us of a classic Frank Meadow Stucliffe image!'
The calendars can be purchased at Whitby Lifeboat Station or the Museum and shop on Pier Road. If you wish to purchase a calendar via post, please email Neil at [email protected]
