Young hero on his walks to raise money for RNLI arrives at Happisburgh
Happisburgh volunteers have been out to support a local hero who is raising money for the RNLI.
Johnathon Jarvis, who is nine years old, will be taking on his third walk to raise money for the RNLI. In 2024 he walked from his home in Upwell, Norfolk to Hunstanton Lifeboat Station.
In 2025 he walked from Happisburgh Lifeboat Station, where his uncle is one of the station’s launch authorities and an RNLI Assessor, around 52 miles to Hunstanton Lifeboat Station.
This year on the 30 May, he is off again doing the distance of a marathon in one day, starting at 5am at Upwell walking around Outwell and other villages, hoping to finish this part around 9am. He will then go to Wisbech to start on the second leg around the town, then at 5pm he will finish the walk around Hunstanton covering the last six miles finishing at Hunstanton RNLI Lifeboat Station.
Today (29 May) Johnathon arrived at Happisburgh Lifeboat Station to do his final training walk ahead of tomorrow’s walk with his parents. Before he left the station he was given a tour before giving the volunteers a donation of £250 to help them save lives at sea.
