Queensferry's Atlantic-85 Lifeboat, Jimmie Cairncross B-851, will be on display for tours throughout the day

Taking place on Sunday 14 June from 12pm to 4pm at Hawes Promenade, Queensferry RNLI Open Day offers a fun packed afternoon of food and festivities, all while supporting the lifesaving work of Queensferry RNLI.

Visitors can enjoy a performance from Queensferry Pipes and Drums, get involved in traditional games with the volunteer crew, and take in an impressive Newfoundland dog display. There will be something for the whole family to enjoy - from face painting and home baking, to a tombola, a BBQ, and pop-up RNLI shop.

Children (and adults) will have the chance to explore emergency response vehicles, take a closer look at the station’s Atlantic 85 lifeboat, and meet the volunteer crew. There will also be the chance to see the lifeboat in action on the water during a display. The RNLI’s face-to-face team will be there throughout the day, offering important water safety guidance and advice.

Helen Feenan, Volunteer Fundraising Chair at Queensferry RNLI says: ‘This event is a fantastic chance for the local community to get to know the crew, discover more about the lifesaving work we carry out, and enjoy a fun-filled family day in South Queensferry.’

Helen added: ‘We can’t wait to welcome everyone to the station and highlight the important role our volunteers play in helping keep people safe at sea.’

Entry is free, with all proceeds raised on the day helping to fund Queensferry RNLI’s 24/7 search and rescue service to help save lives at sea.
