Lifeboat Trainer Assessor Course Completed.

Congratulations to Senior Station Technician Jon-Paul Whaley and Duty Coxswain Darren Thirlaway (pictured) who have both successfully completed their Lifeboat Trainer & Assessor (LTA) course at the RNLI College in Poole.

Jon-Paul and Darren can now train and assess our shore and all weather lifeboat crew, helping prepare them for their final pass-outs in the aim of ensuring that there are no delays to progressing our crews through their training plans.

Congratulations also to crew member Nils Moeller who recently attended the RNLI Sea Survival Centre in Poole and passed his 'Crew Emergency Procedure' course.
Welcome to Nikki Sutherland who has been appointed as a Family Support Volunteer (FSV) here at the station.

The RNLI is the charity that saves lives at sea. Its volunteers provide a 24-hour search and rescue service around the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland coasts. The RNLI operates 238 lifeboat stations in the UK and Ireland and more than 240 lifeguard units on beaches around the UK and Channel Islands. The RNLI is independent of Coastguard and government and depends on voluntary donations and legacies to maintain its rescue service. Since the RNLI was founded in 1824, its lifeboat crews and lifeguards have saved over 146,700 lives.
