Independent from government support, the rescue service depends on donations. In 2024, for every £1 spent on charitable activities, 54p was on lifeboats, property and equipment; 28p on running the lifeboat service; 12p on lifeguard rescue; 4p on water safety, education and awareness; and 2p on international drowning prevention.

Reflecting on the event fundraising chair Janet Lange expressed “huge thanks to everyone for your help and support.” This vital fundraising enables crew to be ready 24/7, 365 days a year to respond.
