The First Female Helm at Sennen Cove
With International Women’s Day fast approaching, we are delighted to announce that Sennen Cove lifeboat station has its first female helm for our D class inshore lifeboat.
Congratulations to RNLI volunteer Izzy Puddiphatt who has been successful in completing her pass out as 'D' class helm today.
Izzy underwent full assessment and pass out exercises, under the watchful eye of Lifeboat Trainer Assessor Lyle Stantiford. She achieved the required standard of competency necessary to be able to take command of our 'D' class inshore lifeboat Arangy in a search and rescue role.
Izzy has worked extremely hard to achieve this qualification and will no doubt be an inspiration to those who will go to sea under her leadership.
