Swanage Lifeboat aids motor boat with engine failure

A 24 foot motor boat suffered engine failure near Old Harry Rocks.

The skipper, and sole occupant, had dropped anchor and tried for a few hours to fix the engine but to no avail. With no other vessels able to tow the boat back to Poole, the lifeboat was launched to get it to safety. A tow line was secured to the motor boat and the ALB towed it to Poole Quay Boat Haven.

Assured that the vessel's skipper was in good health and content to be left at the marina, the lifeboat returned to station.
