The first request was received at 5.19 pm on Thursday the 25 June 2026 the lifeboat volunteers being tasked to assist two children on paddleboards near Penmaenmawr who they suspected of being in difficulties. However, the lifeboat was stood down whilst on route as the children had been assisted ashore, the Bangor Mobile Coastguard rescue team being in attendance.

The second request to launch was received at 8.21 pm on Thursday 25 June 2026 once again to assist two different paddleboarders suspected of being in difficulties near Llanfairfechan. They were escorted ashore by the lifeboat to the waiting Bangor Mobile Coastguard rescue team. the paddleboarders suspected that they had seen a third paddleboarder in potential difficulty consequently the lifeboat undertook a search of the area, but none of the paddleboarders encountered required assistance

The last of the three launch requests was received at 4.43 am on Friday the 26 June 2026. This time to an incident near the shore off Castle Island located in the Menai Strait. In addition to units of the north Wales police, Penmon and Bangor Mobile Coastguard rescue team had been tasked. Fortunately, the matter was resolved by the police, and the lifeboat was stood down.

A RNLI spokesperson said: ‘The members of the public who alerted the coastguard to these incidents did the correct thing. It is far better for us to be launched and not required than not to have been alerted to a potential incident.’.
