All weather lifeboat launches to disabled yacht
The busy period for the Swanage RNLI volunteers continued with another call for the all weather lifeboat.
The lifeboat launched and was quickly on scene. A crew member was put aboard to assess the situation and assist the solo sailor.
After a quick assessment it was agreed that the best course of action was to take the yacht in tow, pull it away from Peveril Ledge and take it to a place of safety.
The tow line was passed across and the yacht was soon out of danger. Twenty minutes later the yacht was secured to a mooring and the lifeboat was released to return to station.
