Littlehampton RNLI ready to welcome visitors to exciting Open Day
The volunteer crew of Littlehampton RNLI are inviting the community to join them for a fun-filled Open Day on Sunday 16 August from 11am to 4pm at Littlehampton RNLI Lifeboat Station.
The Open Day will be a fantastic event for the whole family with a range of attractions and activities designed to showcase the lifesaving work of Littlehampton RNLI.
Visitors will be able to get up close to the station’s two lifeboats – Renee Sherman and Spirit of Fidelity – and their two tractors, as well as meet the crew. Attractions will include a BBQ, bouncy castle, ice cream van, face painting, children's activities and a craft stall.
Subject to operational availability, lifeboats from neighbouring lifeboat stations Selsey RNLI and Shoreham Harbour RNLI are expected to visit the harbour, giving visitors the chance to visit and see additional lifeboats in action.
The Open Day is part of Littlehampton Harbour’s Waterfront Festival, which takes place from 15-16 August and celebrates the town’s maritime heritage and waterfront community.
Nick White, Littlehampton RNLI Lifeboat Operations Manager, said: "Littlehampton RNLI Lifeboat Station is right at the heart of our community and we are so grateful for everyone’s continued generosity and support. Our Open Day is our way of saying thank you to our community and to give them a glimpse of how we save lives at sea. We can’t wait to welcome everyone.”
